Deborah Lee Cummings Morgan of Mills River, NC went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 9, 2018. Debbie was the daughter of the late Chester Alvin Cummings and Mary Deborah Taylor Cummings. She was also preceded in death by her brother John Taylor Cummings. Debbie was a devoted, loving mother and grandmother. She knew the Lord as her personal savior and her family takes comfort in knowing she is now rejoicing in Heaven with Jesus!

Debbie was born July 29, 1951 in Chicago, Illinois and moved to Brevard, NC in 1970 with her parents. She retired from the Henderson County School System in 2003 where she enjoyed being a teacher assistant for many years. Debbie’s passion and widespread love for children made her a favorite of many students, teachers, and parents.

Debbie is survived by her son and daughter in law, Shaun and Kim Morgan of Norwood, daughter and son in law, Jennifer and Matt Russell of Mills River, and daughter Ashley Morgan of Shelby, NC. Known as “Mimi” by her four wonderful grandchildren, Alex, Abby, and Anna Morgan, and Averie Russell were her absolute pride and joy.

A celebration of Debbie’s life will be held Saturday, November 17th at 2pm at Prospect Baptist Church with Senior Pastor, Stoney Benfield officiating.

The family asks that donations be made to the following organizations: Hospice of Cabarrus County, Multiple Sclerosis Society.
