Originally from Mayfield, KY, survived by his mother Betty Perkins, four brothers, Jerry Jones, Ricky Perkins, Larry Perkins, and Randy Perkins.
A graduate of Wingo High School, Murray State University, B. A., and University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign (M.E.O.L.), and he belonged to Phi Mu Alpha fraternity.
After spending several years as a teacher and administrator, he worked in the airline industry for United Airlines and Delta Air Lines.
Scott was an avid singer and a member of the Indianapolis Men's Chorus, also serving on it's board of directors.
Private memorial celebrations of life will be held in Indianapolis and Mayfield.
