Leroy Corbitt “Buddy” Howard Jr. passed away on Friday, Nov. 9, 2018.

He was born in Kenedy, Texas, on Nov. 6, 1938, to Dodie Ermler and Leroy C. Howard Sr.

Buddy was a very active member and participant in the Floresville community, including serving 15 years on the Floresville Independent School District board, a member of the Lions Club, Chamber of Commerce, Jaycees, EMS, Volunteer Fire Department, Floresville Library Board, and Peanut Festival king. He was devoted to his local employers, Hoelscher’s and Lieberman’s, where his personality of “never met a stranger” was evident with all he came in contact with. He was a resident of Floresville from 1966 until his passing to a heavenly eternity. Buddy was a charter member of Northview Baptist Church, where he was instrumental in its establishment and an active member. Buddy and his wife, Liz, were married 58 years and four months, and were devoted to one another with a true love.

Visitation was held on Thursday, Nov. 15, at 11 a.m. in the Northview Baptist Church in Floresville.

A funeral service was held on Thursday at noon in the church, officiated by Pastor John Hoelscher.

Interment followed in the Floresville City Cemetery in Floresville.
