She was born to the late Arthur Tucker and Wilhelmina (Ellis) Tucker on September 28, 1941, in Brooklyn, N.Y.
Beverly received her formal education in the New York City Public School System. She graduated from Eastern District High School in 1959.
Beverly held several jobs until finding employment with the New York City Transit Authority from 1987 through 2001. Upon her retirement, she relocated to Reading, Pa.
Sister Riley was a very active member in the New Testament Church of God (Brooklyn, N.Y.), where she accepted Christ as her personal Savior. When Beverly relocated to Reading, Pa., she attended Holy Trinity Church of God under the pastorship of Bishop Robert Brookins, of which she and her husband were faithful members.
Surviving to cherish her loving memory are her husband of 31 years, James E. Riley; her two daughters, Robin J. Wright (Phillip) and Nicole D. Brown; her son, Seymour Edwards; brother, Arthur "Sonny" Tucker; and sister-in-law, Allison Tucker. Other survivors include 12 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral services to celebrate Beverly's life will be held Tuesday, November 13th, at 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Church of God, 130 W. Buttonwood St., Reading, with the Bishop Robert E. Brookins officiating. Viewing begins at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in the Charles Evans Cemetery, Reading, Pa. Harris Funeral Home, 222 N. Front St., Reading, Pa., is handling arrangements.
