Joyce Stokes Brooks
Wilkinson County, Georgia- The death of Mrs. Joyce Stokes Brooks, age 89, occurred Sunday, November 11, 2018. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday November 14, at Clear Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Dwayne Outlaw officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Brooks was a life-long resident of Wilkinson County having graduated from Irwinton High School. She worked for Freeport Kaolin as an administrative secretary. She was preceded in death by her husband Alvin Harold Brooks and was a member of Clear Creek Baptist Church serving as church secretary and treasurer for over 25 years.
Survivors include her children, Marcia B. Lee (Marshall) of Milledgeville, Sonia B. Scott of Gordon, Dale A. Brooks (Rhonda) of Thomaston, and Lance H. Brooks (Ruben) of Holly Springs, GA, five grandchildren, Tammy Lee, Stacy McCoy, Clay Scott, Brett Scott, and C.J. Vaughan, and four great grandchildren also survive.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5-7 at Couey-Reece-Stanley Funeral Home.
