"Nathan Feinberg
Ret. Podiatrist, 89
Nathan Feinberg, a retired doctor of podiatry, died Friday, January 19, 2001, in Royal Palm Beach, Fla. He was 89 years of age.
The son of the late Isaac and Adele Feinberg, he was born in New York City.
He attended the school system in Monticello. Friends recall that he was a member of the first Monticello High School football team and that when he enrolled at Pittsburgh University he had hopes of playing the sport. Those hopes were quickly dashed when the coaching staff told him that he was too small. Post graduate work took him to the New York College of Podiatry and his lifetime career.
Dr. Feinberg set up his first office in Monticello and then expanded the practice into Port Jervis. After 35 years, he sold the two offices and moved to Florida where he joined a practice with a prominent podiatrist, later maintaining the practice when his partner retired. He served the West Palm Beach community for 13 years.
In Monticello, Dr. Feinberg was very active in community affairs having been president of the Rotary Club and the Jewish Community Center, among other things. In Florida, he was once again active in Rotary affairs.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Pearl Feinberg; two daughters, Dee Sabers of North Palm Beach, Fla., and Lolly Gruber of Royal Palm Beach, Fla.; two granddaughters, Laura Sabers and Ilyce Gruber; and a grandson, David Sabers.
Services were held Monday at the Riverside-Gordon Memorial Chapel in West Palm Beach, followed by burial at the Garden of David. Rabbi Nason Goldstein presided."
