John Minton, Jr.
September 27, 1925 - April 19, 2014

Minton, John H. age 88, of Knoxville, passed away Saturday, April 19, 2014 at Kindred Nursing and Rehab. Member of Central Baptist Fountain City and The Moulders Sunday School Class. John was also a member of Bright Hope Lodge, Beaver Brook Country and served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Retired from R.J. Reynolds with over 30 years of service.

Preceded in death by parents, Jennie and John Harve Minton, Sr.; brothers, Andrew, Elbert, Willie, Scott and Roy; sister, Hazel Minton; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Wilma and James T. Hurst.

Survivors: loving wife, Ruby Minton; daughter, Susan Elaine Minton and spouse David Wilson; son, David Minton and spouse Lindy; grandsons, Eric Minton and spouse Lindsay, Connor Minton and Ty Minton; Penny The Pug; sister, Rosa Dykes; nephews, Larry Minton, Steve Minton and Roy Minton.

Our family wishes to extend our gratitude and thanks to Elmcroft of Halls and Kindred (Northhaven) for the loving care they provided to both John and our family and the recently departed Wilma Hurst, our aunt and sister.

Funeral service 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at Stevens Chapel with Rev. Ron Mouser officiating. Entombment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be The Moulders Sunday School Class of Central Baptist Church Fountain City.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimers Tennessee, 2200 Sutherland Avenue, Knoxville, TN 37919.
