Earl James Grubbs, 71, died Friday, Feb. 2, 1990, in a local hospital after a brief illness. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday in the Tap Cemetery near Spur, Texas.
Grubbs, a longtime resident of this area, was born November 27, 1918 in Kent County, Texas, a son of the late Mr. And Mrs G. W. Grubbs. He married the former Mary Ellen Lilies on December 8, 1956, in Vernon. He was a U. S. Army Veteran of World War II And worked most of his life as a cowboy. He was a retired employee of W. T. Waggoner Estate and a former employee of Beggs Ranch, Matador Ranch, Swenson Land and Cattle Company and the Triangle Ranch.
He was a member of the Baptist Church.
The family will be at the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday.
