Marion "Bunny" Ridgely Chesley, 92, of Charlotte Hall, MD passed away April 19, 2015 at Calvert Memorial Hospital. Born April 24, 1922 she was the daughter of the late Bernard Nicholas Ridgely and the late Mary Gertrude Thompson Ridgely.
During her career with St. Mary's school system, Marion was an elementary teacher and reading specialist. She earned her Bachelor's degree in teaching and went on to earn her Master's degree at age 50.
Organizations that Marion enjoyed included the St. Mary's County Garden Club, Retired Teachers and Association, and the Antique Arts Association. She loved gardening and arranging flowers. She also enjoyed creating detailed cross-stitch pictures treasured by family and friends.
Marion was predeceased by her parents; husband, Frederick S. Chesley; son, Michael R. Chesley; sister, Mary Ann Ridgely; son-in-law, John B. Rison; and niece, Kimberly Cullins.
She is survived by her daughter, Marion "Jonnie" Rison; son, William "Bill" Chesley (Robin), daughter, Sharon C. Watts (Tom); sister, Marjorie Rubala; nephew, Michael Rubala; eight grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Family will receive friends between 11:00am 12:00pm on Friday, April 24, 2015 at All Faith Episcopal Church, 38885 New Market Turner Rd, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622. Services and interment will follow. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to All Faith Episcopal Church. Arrangements provided by Brinsfield Funeral Home.
