Born on Monday, January 17, 1938 in Hanover, he was a son of the late Gloyd A. and Elizabeth Miller Wright. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Julianna M. Wright, who died on August 15, 2018; three brothers, Lawrence, Larry and Gene Wright; a great-grandson, Krystjan Garza; and a nephew, Anthony Jury. Philip served with the US Marine Corps and retired in 2000 after 30 years of service with SKF USA, Inc. He was a former member of the Hanover VFW Post #2506 and was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing golf.
Survivors include a daughter; Elaine Craig of Hanover; two brothers, Edward Wright and his wife, Patricia, and Joseph Wright and his wife, Patricia, all of Hanover; two sisters, Shirley Wright of Hanover and Rose Harner and her husband, Rodney, of Charleston, WV; four grandchildren, Heidi Burbank of Hanover, Krista and Jason Wentz, both of New Oxford, and Matthew Wentz of Hanover; seven great-grandchildren, Hope and Trinity Burbank, both of Hanover, Kaitlyn and Jordan Brown, Cami and Kyra Wentz, all of New Oxford, and Jason Wentz, Jr. of Frederick, MD; and many nieces and nephews including Frank Jury, who was always there to lend a helping hand.
Burial will follow in Immaculate Conception Church Cemetery.
