Rilda “Jean” Edgington, 75, of Lancaster, passed away Monday, April 17, 2017, at her home. She was born on October 15, 1941 in Garrard County to the late Joe R. and Ida Hurt Edgington.

Jean worked for Farmer’s Bank in Danville, Kentucky as a loan officer for over 19 years and was a member of Bryantsville Missionary Baptist Church.

Surviving are three sisters, Betty Carman (Vernon), Della Montgomery, and Ruby “Chick” Edgington, all of Lancaster; and three brothers, J.F. Edgington (Louise), Ollie Edgington (Bonnie), and James G. Edgington (Sedonia), all of Lancaster. Jean was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Mary Edna Sebastian.

Funeral services 11 a.m. Friday, April 21, 2017, at Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Gary Howell officiating. Burial in Lancaster Cemetery.

Visitation Thursday, April 20, 2017, from 5-9 p.m. Pallbearers are nephews, Richard Edgington, Curtis Edgington, Anscin Sebastian, James Gilbert Edgington, Alan “Peanut” Edgington, Jimmy C. Edgington, Darrell Edgington, Greg Carman, and Doug Carman. Honorary pallbearers are nieces, Barbara Ray, Cindy Rogers, Sarada Arnold, Melanie Edgington, Melinda Dailey, Regina Meadows, Shelia Napier, Ramona Morris, Ruth Wall, Sarah Pianoski, and Bonita “Pie” Gooch.
