ALBANY Eleanor J. Martin Simmons, 83, died Wednesday, November 7, 2018. Born in Albany on November 25, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Thomas F. Martin and Jane E. Bartell Martin. She was the sister of the late Thomas F. Martin of Chambersburg, Pa., and the late Russell and James Martin of Albany. She graduated from Vincentian Institute and worked for New York Telephone for several years. She later worked for N.Y.S. Dept. of Agriculture and Markets, where she retired from in 1995. She is survived by two daughters, Deborah Busold of Bradenton, Fla. and Colleen (Patrick) Ferlo of Ballston Spa; and five sons, Christopher (Rose) Busold of Saratoga Springs, Michael Busold of Saratoga Springs, George "Chip" (Debra) Busold of Waterford, Thomas Simmons of Albany, and Steven (Ann) Simmons of Tampa, Fla. She was the beloved grandmother of Nicole Busold, Heather and Melissa Ferlo, Joshua and Lucas Busold, Kelly and Steven Simmons, and David Ross. She spent winters in Bradenton, Fla. and summers on Saratoga Lake, where she spent time with her grandchildren. She was a 48-year active member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit #1520 Joseph E. Zaloga Post, where she was a past president and held many other offices
