Judith Ann Taylor Hood died on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at the age of 77. Judy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and loyal friend. She was born in Toledo, OH on January 9, 1941 to Edward and Ann (Pedro) Taylor. Judy was a graduate of St. Ursula Academy. She married Ray Hood on April 4, 1958. Upon Ray's death in 1981, she went on to raise their four children, Kristine, Martin, Elizabeth and Michael. She was a long time member of St. Catherine of Siena Church, where she was a gym teacher, brownie leader and room mother. Judy was employed by the Lucas County Engineer's Office until her retirement in 2002.
Her growing family became her main focus, welcoming 13 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, she truly enjoyed family time. She could always be found at a sporting event cheering on the "kids". She was an avid golfer and played in a variety of golf leagues displaying an uncanny affinity with a nine iron.
Judy is survived by her children, Kristine (Dan) LaValley, Martin (Nancy), Elizabeth Bialecki and Michael (Betsy); grandchildren, Daniel, Alyssa (Jacob), Kelsie, Brian, Ana, Matthew, Madeleine, John, Joseph, Elizabeth, Emily, Joseph and Nicholas; great-grandchildren, Brooke, Makayla, Olivia, Jacob and Daniel. She also was preceded in death by her parents.
Family and friends may visit on Monday, November 12, 2018 at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Avenue from 2 until 8 p.m. where a Scripture Service will be held at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at St. Pius X Church with Fr. Ron Olszewski celebrating the mass. Interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, tributes in Judy's memory can be made to Ebeid Hospice, Hope Learning Academy or the charity of the donor's choice. Online condolences may be placed at walkerfuneralhomes.com
