He was chief resident partner (lead merchant) in the firm Walker, Parker & Co of the Leadworks. He was also a magistrate and lived at the Leadworks, Boughton, Chester. He died at a hotel in London, aged 43 yrs of erysipelas (infection of the skin). The illness was quite distressing as his mental faculties were effected. He was buried on the 24th July 1869.
