Raymond Y. Allen, 89, of Emmaus, died September 11 in Phoebe Home, Allentown. He was the husband of the late Helen N. (Lundgren) Allen. Born in Germantown, he was the son of the late John H. and Laura B. (Buzzard) Allen. He attended the University of Pennsylvania. He was a metallurgist, working as a metal salesman for Whitehead Metals, a subsidiary of International Nickel Company, Philadelphia, retiring in 1978. He served in the Air Force during World War II. He was a member of St. Margarets Episcopal Church, where he was a past vestryman, a licensed lay reader and served the church in many other capacities. He was an active member of Emmaus Lions Club, vice chairman of the Friends of the American Swedish Museum, Philadelphia, and was an active volunteer for Lehigh Valley Hospital for 15 years.

Survivors: Daughter, Holly, wife of John Homka, of Perkasie; devoted grandfather to Andrew Allen Homka.

Services: memorial, 11 a.m. Saturday, September 17 in St. Margarets Episcopal Church, Keystone Avenue and Elm Street, Emmaus.

Private interment in Western Salisbury Cemetery. Schantz Funeral Home Inc., Emmaus, is in charge of arrangements.

Contributions: May be made to St. Margarets Episcopal Church, Keystone Avenue and Elm Street, Emmaus 18049 or to the American Heart Association, Northeast Pennsylvania District, 212 E. Broad St., Bethlehem 18018.
