Gordon Edward Thompson
  Gordon Edward Thompson, 82, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully in his home on November 9, 2018. He was born on June 28, 1936 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Edward George Thompson and Arthella LaVinna Turner. He married Shirley Woolsey on May 12, 1956, and was later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. He graduated from Murray High School and went on to own and operate several service stations. He also drove school bus for Murray School District for many years and loved the children.
  Gordon is survived by his wife, Shirley; daughters: Melynda (Mike) Neil and Jodi (Richard) Wilson; son, Ryan Thompson; daughter-in-law, Bonnie Shaffer; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters; 2 brothers; and 2 brothers-in-law. He was preceded in death by his son, Lane Thompson, and a brother-in-law.
  The family would like to extend thanks to the staff of Summit Home Health and Hospice. A special thanks to Gordon's nurse, Kim, and his aide, Luis.
  Graveside services will be held Wednesday, November 14, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. at the Murray City Cemetery, located at 5600 South Vine Street, Murray, Utah. Friends and family may call on Tuesday, November 13, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and on Wed., November 14, from 12:00-12:45 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Funeral Home, 4760 South State, Murray, Utah.
