Rebecca “Beckie” Ann Day, 65, passed away on November 9, 2018 at a local care facility.

Ms. Beckie is a native of Lake Charles, Louisiana attended Lake Charles High School, and worked at her grandparent’s restaurant, Day’s Café. She was a member of The Vineyard of Lake Charles and, as a child, was baptized at University Methodist Church. Her family remembers her as generous, wise, and a spirited rebel. She always enjoyed cooking meals for her family. She very much loved her grandchildren and nieces and nephews and was their favorite aunt.

She is survived by two daughters, Tanya Maples (fiancé, Michael Miles), Margaret Smith Greene (Alonzo); two sisters, Laura Waldmeier Thompson (Matt), and Carol Day; two brothers, Bill Day (Becky), Bob Day (Melissa); six grandchildren, Brennan, Tyler, and Shelby Maples, Nicholas, George, and Taj Greene, and Chelsea Hoffman; one great grandchild, Shaleey Mantanino; and many friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Mary Anne Day.

A memorial service will be held at Johnson Funeral Home at 1PM on Monday, November 12th. Chaplain June Tipton will be the celebrant.

Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home.
