John Eugene Osborn, 90, of Archie, Missouri, died Friday, November 9, 2018 at the Missouri Veterans Home in Warrensburg, Missouri. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Archie, Missouri. The family will receive friends 1:00-2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial in Crescent Hill Cemetery, Adrian, Missouri.
John was born December 5, 1927 in Harrisonville, MO, a son of Vern Ross and Eva Juanita (Briles) Osborn. John was a lifelong Archie resident and a 1945 graduate of Archie High School. He enlisted in the Marines in February of 1946, and served two years during WWII. John worked at McKee Quarry in maintenance for over 40 years before his retirement.
John was a member of Operating Engineers Union, Local 101 in Kansas City and a member of Grand River Masonic Lodge # 276 in Freeman, MO. He was a Baptist.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Ross Edwin Osborn; and a sister, Velda Mae Troth.
John is survived by a son, Leon Osborn, Harrisonville; two daughters, Evon Hall and Brenda Sue Arnold, both of Adrian, MO; three brothers, Glen W. Osborn, Raytown, MO, Donald L. Osborn, Harrisonville, MO and Melvin R. Osborn, Drexel, MO; one sister, Alice Campbell, Carl Junction, MO; five grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
