Brent was born on July 30, 1958 in Toledo, Ohio to Thelma and Doug Cottrell. He graduated from Mount Vernon Academy in 1977. Thereafter, he received a Bachelor of Fine Arts at the Columbus College of Art & Design and had a long and successful career at Hallmark Cards in Kansas City and American Greetings in Ohio. He loved football, working out, photography, good food, riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, his grandkids, and especially making people laugh. He loved his friends like family, they were of paramount importance to him and he loved having them around him as much as possible.
Brent was preceded in death by both of his parents, and his father-in-law Russ Stinson who passed away on October 5, 2018. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Kelly of 25 years, his sons, Jeremy (Tynia) and Josh, his brother Marshall (Jenny), his sister Darrell (Terry), nieces, and nephews and his mother-in-law Sally Stinson. He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren, Knox and Claire.
He always had a corny joke to bring a smile to our faces. Also, is it possible that anyone loved ice cream more than you? We miss you and love you.
