Mr. John Gilbert Gough, 89, of Hamptonville, NC died Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at Hugh Chatham Hospital.
Mr. Gough, born in Yadkin County, NC; was the son of the late John and Nina Sizemore Gough. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Lois Pardue and a brother, Buddy Gough.
He was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy Reserves and a member of Flat Rock Baptist Church. He farmed tobacco and peppers in his earlier years. He worked as a manager of Gough Bros. Shell and Davie Motors. He was parts manager for Mendenhall Motors and Joe's Auto parts and owned The Parts Place. He was very active with Meal on Wheels and Yadkin Christian Ministries for many years.
