Death came suddenly to Mr. Alva L. Harbin, widely known Lockhart resident, at his home shortly after 4 o'clock Wednesday morning. He had been ill for some time. Funeral services were held from the Gates Ridge church Friday at 2 o'clock with the Rev. A. F. Ball in charge. The body was laid to rest in the Gates Ridge cemetery. Samuel Alvia Harbin, youngest son of the late Stacy and Louisa Harbin, was born in Noble county, Ohio, Aoril 1, 1875, departed this life Dec. 4, 1940. He was a resident of McGraw for 65 years. He was married to Miss Effie Barnett in the year 1906. To them five children were born, and they with the wife are left, also one sister, Mrs. J. W. Archer, of Ravenswood. The children are: Mrs. Edith McFadon, Mt. Gilead, Ohio; Cromer Harbin, Marion, Ohio; Mrs. Sylvia Bonnett, Sandyville; Clive Harbin, Sandyville; and Carl Harbin, at home.
