Harriet Hunt Bozeman Adams, 105 years old, of 9 Hillview Drive, died peacefully in her sleep at her home on Wednesday, November 3, 2010.
Born on July 15, 1905, she was a lifelong resident of Greenville and the daughter of the late Timothy Franklin Hunt and Belle Black Hunt, also of Greenville.
Harriet attended Greenville High School and Limestone College where she was voted the most popular student in her class. She was a lifelong member of Buncombe Street United Methodist Church and was its oldest living member at the time of her death. She was a past president of the Susannah Wesley Sunday School class. She was also an associate member of First Baptist Church.
Harriet loved people, never met a stranger and was always optimistic and cheerful throughout life. She enjoyed golf well into her 80's and won many trophies while a member of the Greenville Country Club. She also was a competitive bridge player and played into her 90's. She enjoyed driving cars, starting at age 11 and continuing until age 101. She never had an accident and never received a ticket.
Harriet was predeceased by her first husband, F.B. (Bill) Bozeman and her second husband, Robert R. Adams. She was also predeceased by her two brothers, David W. Hunt and T. Frank Hunt; her sister, Flora H. Sherman; and grandchild, Robert B. Leslie.
She is survived by a son, Bill B. Bozeman (Ann); daughter, Harriet B. Farmer (Virgil); grandchildren, William D. Bozeman, Nancy B. Schlepphorst (Peter), James B. Bozeman, Thomas H. Bozeman (Gwen), William A. Leslie (Beth), Sidney Lee Leslie (Terry) and Harriet Jean Leslie; and great grandchildren, Emily A. Bozeman, Bryan B. Bozeman, Marshall T. Bozeman, Amy M. Schlepphorst, Daniel P. Schlepphorst, William A. Leslie, IV, Charles H. Leslie, R. Jason Leslie, Robin L. Haulbrook, Kirsten L. Barr, S. Lee Leslie and Maggie L. Nerenberg.
