After her marriage to Lee Batsell in 1880 they live on the Batsell family farm just north of Monrovia for five years. They then moved to St. Joseph, where Mr. Batsell became a general contractor and eventually brought their two sons John and Chester into the business, they all prospered and became well-to-do. A daughter, Mrs. Mae O. Blacketter also lived at St. Joseph.
