ANNA MARIE JAMES, 91, of Williamsport, MD passed away on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at Fahrney Keedy Nursing Home Boonsboro, MD. She was born on January 25, 1927 in Williamsport, MD to the late Francis Watkins and Hannah Ruth Mentzer James.

She was employed by Katy O’Connell’s Dress Shop in Hagerstown, MD and was previously employed as a Dental Assistant for several years in Washington State. Anna was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. She was a member of St. Augustine’s Roman Catholic Church Williamsport, MD. She was also a member of the Potomac Post #202 American Legion Williamsport, MD. Anna was active in Sports and was an expert in Judo.

She is survived by many nieces and nephews, cousins, friends and the son she raised Phil “PG” O’Connell; brother John R. James of Williamsport, MD; brother Francis C. James of Goldsboro, NC.

She was predeceased by two brothers Paul K. James and Alfred E. S. James and one sister Ella Mae Bentley-Shain.

A graveside service will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Park Williamsport, MD. Military honors will be provided by Joint Veterans Council of Washington County and Marine Corps League of Hagerstown, MD.
