Harold Bowman, 73, of Raysal, WV, passed away Sunday, November 4, 2018, in the Pikeville Medical Center in Pikeville, KY. He was a retired coal miner and was a grave digger.
Harold was born July 8, 1945, in Welch, WV, a son of the late Willard Cecil Bowman (1914-1984) and Dicie Hughes-Bowman (1915-1979). In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Howard Bowman (Deceased), Darrell Bowman (1945-1970) and Billy Gene Bowman (1951-2011); one sister, Mary "Alice" Bowman-Christian (1934-2005); and maternal grandparents, Clarence Hughes (Deceased) and Fannie Hughes (Deceased).
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Wanda Bowman of the home; four sons, Homer Bowman & wife Tonya Bowman of Bryan TX, William “Bo” Bowman & wife Misty Bowman of Barnesville, OH, Daniel Bowman of the home and Emanuel Bowman also of the home & his girlfriend Amanda Vance of Paynesville, WV; seven grandchildren, Angelica Cline, Richard Bowman, Victoria Bowman, Preston Bowman, Haden Bowman, Haley Bowman and Bryson Bowman; two brothers, Elmer Bowman (1936-2018) & wife Ruth Bowman of Raysal WV, and Cecil Bowman & wife Katherine Bowman of War WV; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, November 10, 2018, at 11:00 with Reverend Wilmer Muncy and Reverend Melvin Muncy officiating at the Slate Creek Church of the Living God at Raysal, WV. Burial will follow in the Rose Family Cemetery on Paddle Fork near Raysal, WV.
