John Riley Archer, Jr.

John Riley Archer, Jr., 87, Route 1, Elizabeth, died at the Clarksburg Veteran's Hospital Saturday afternoon following an extended illness.

Archer was born in Jackson County, a son of the late John Riley and Margaret Harbin Archer. ???????????????????????????

Surviving are three sons, Ellsworth of Rockport, Lloyd of Elizabeth and Olin Archer of Reedy; four daughters, Mrs. Rosie Young of Rayland, Ohio, Mrs. Sylvia Damiani of Portland, Ore., Mrs. Ellen Douglas of Elizabeth and Mrs. Shirley Freshour of Sandyville; a brother Hoy Archer of Akron, Ohio, a sister, Mrs. Flora Hamilton of California; 28 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie Mae Holliday Archer; two brothers and four sisters.

Services will be conducted Tuesday, 1 p.m., at the Leavitt Funeral Home, with the Rev. S. A. Scott officiating. Interment will be in the Gates Ridge Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Leavitt Funeral Home after 7 p.m. today.
