Reba Swink Jones came into the world on September 10, 1929 to parents George Isom Swink and Juel Lee Hart. As I end my life on November 6, 2018, I would like to pay tribute to my family. I was the middle child with an older sister, Mary Louise Swink Livengood (E. M.) and younger sister Georgie Ann Swink Allen (James L.). I grew up living on Yadkinville Highway and attending Old Town School. I graduated in 1947. I attended two years at Mars Hill College. I took a business course at Draughns Business College and went to work at Wachovia Bank. I married Wiley R. Jones Sr. on June 8, 1950. After raising my family of two children, Karen Lee Jones Lawson (J. R.) and Wiley R. Jones Jr., I had three grandchildren: J. R. (Buddy) Lawson (wife Esther Remeta), Gretchen Lee Lawson King, and Matthew Leon Jones (wife Amanda). I also have four great-grandchildren: Steven Lee Lawson-Lail, Landen Lee Lawson Bruton, Owen Jones, and Kaitlyn Reece. I have many nieces and nephews of which I am very fond.

I became very much interested in genealogy and joined a genealogy society. I became interested in the Daughters of the American Revolution, and soon after joining became the Registrar of the chapter for two years. I also belonged to the United Daughters of the Confederacy and to the Colonial Dames Seventeenth Century. Knowing that I had many more things to find out about my family, I started to research for other people and dug into finding what I needed for my own family.

May the love of God be passed to all of my family and that they each one may come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 10 at Becks Baptist Church with Rev. TJ Morrison officiating. Burial will follow in the church graveyard. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Trellis Hospice, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
