Ms. Edith Barber Elliott passed away at her home this morning Thursday, November 8 ,2018 at the age of 91 years old.
A graveside service is Saturday, November 10, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Athens City Cemetery with Clint Coffey officiating. Visitation will be on Saturday from 10:00-10:45 a.m. at McConnell Funeral Home.
Ms. Elliott was a member of the First Christian Church where she taught Sunday school in her earlier years. She also served as Red Cross volunteer and assisted at the polls. She was married to James B.(Butch) Elliott for 51 years prior to his death in 1977. Mr. Elliott had been a city council president, Air Force veteran and Redstone Arsenal retiree.
Survivors include her son James Elliott of Tuscaloosa, grandson Jamey Elliott of Athens and grandchildren Jack and Davis Elliott of Athens.
