Mrs. Sarah Frances Palmer Reed was born September 12, 1934 to the late, Henry Palmer, Sr. and Mary Sarah Palmer in West Point (Troup County) Georgia.

“SaSa” / “Aunt Sa”, as she was affectionalty known by many, was a graduate of Tenth Street High School, Class of 1954.

She united with Bethlehem Baptist Church at an early age where she served fearlessly as a member of the Kitchen Club, Senior Choir, The Voices of Bethlehem, Pastor’s Aide, Deaconess Ministry, and her heart…Director of the Junior Choir.

Sarah was united in Holy Matrimony to the late, David Reed.

Her past employers include: Colored Cab Station, Whitley Steakhouse, Woody Woodruff, and Bill and Pat Parr.

On Friday, June 15, 2018; our beloved Sarah departed this life at her home in West Point, Georgia. In addition to her parents, and her husband David; she was preceded in death by her sister, Gertrude Palmer; and two brothers: Henry Palmer, Jr. and David Lee Palmer.

She leaves to cherish her memories, three children: Melissa (Kervin) Woods, David (Tandra) Reed, Jr., and Tiara Woodyard; the daughter she gained, Jean Gilliam Godfrey; seven great grandchildren: Davion M. Williams, Marquerion K. Woodyard, Zaevion M. Holloway, Yazmine Stafford, Heaven S. Jones, Terriundae Davidson, and O’Tasia Davidson; one gained great granddaughter, Raygen M. Godfrey; one great-great grandson, Tristian K. Alexander; five sisters-in-law: Ethel (Warner) Bankston, Lula (Donald) Gilliam, Edith Brewer, Hattie Jones, and Ola Reed; two god-daughters: Rita Rowland and Minister Pauline Pollard; two very special friends and fellow Kitchen Club Members: Linda Young and Lila Mae Hall; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, relatives, friends, her beloved Church Family; and her Doggy, Baby Cookie.

The Celebration of Life Service will be Friday at 2:00 PM at Bethlehem Baptist Church. Dr. W. T. Edmondson will officiate. Burial will follow at Marseilles Cemetery.
