Mrs. Walter Alexander
Mrs. Salome (Smith) Alexander, 68, native of Colfax and sister of two Fountain County residents, died at 11:30 p.m. Thursday in University Heights Hospital, Indianapolis, following a long illness.
She graduated from Ladoga High School and attended Vincennes Teachers College, then taught a short time at Ladoga.
Mrs. Alexander, member of Pleasant Valley Christian Church, was married in 1922 to Walter L. Alexander.
Surviving with the husband are a son, John of Indianapolis; five daughters, Sara McDonald and Pauline Copeland of Acton, Ruth Brock of Centerton, Berthat Shepherd of Greenwood and Linda Alexander at home; two sisters, Mrs. Pauline Howard of Veedersburg and Mrs. Clydie Greenburg of Covington, and a brother, Lloyd Smith of Crawfordsville.
