A resident who was well known here passed away in Ottawa last Friday Feb. 2nd, at his home at 104 First Ave., in the person of Wm. R. Giles, after an illness of some two months, following an attack of pleurisy. Deceased was born in Ramsay township about fifty-five years ago and there spent the greater part of his life. After his marriage to Miss Angeline Lowe,; youngest daughter of the late Wm. Lowe of Cedar Hill, he settled on a farm near Clayton, where he resided for a number of years after which he moved to Almonte, where he was engaged as agent for the Frost & Wood Co. for a few years. About eight years ago he moved to Ottawa where he took up real estate business. Besides his widow and one son and two daughters at home, he is survived by three brothers, and one sister, Elijah and Enoch of Ramsay, George of Carleton Place, and Mrs. Chapman of Glen Tay, who have the sympathy of many friends in their sad bereavement. The funeral took place on Monday, afternoon to St. Matthew's church, thence to Beechwood cemetery.
