Charles Edward Wilder, 79, of Acree, GA went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, November 7, 2018. The graveside funeral service will be held today, Friday, November 9, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Hillcrest Cemetery in Sylvester, GA, with Rev. W. Robin Chaplin officiating.
Mr. Wilder was born in his family’s home in Acree, GA on January 12, 1939 to the late C.L. “Roy” and Reba (Branch) Wilder. He was named after his great-grandfather, Charles Edward Wilder, who was also born on January 12.
Charles spent eight years of his life in the Army National Guard. He retired from Coats and Clark after 30+ years. He was Baptist by faith. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 41 years, Barbara Wilder; a daughter, Sandra K. Imel; a son, "T-Tom"; and a grandson, Kaleb R. Andrews.
Survivors include: a daughter, Deborah “Debbie” Andrews of Acree; a son, Ricky (Kim) Lawrence of Lee County; a brother, Carl Wilder of Plains; a sister, Jayne (Tim) Carman of Albany; four grandchildren, Kristen Andrews, Natalie (Chris) Espy, Melanie Lawrence, Lance Wiggins; and a great-grandson, Reid Espy.
The family will receive friends following the graveside service at the cemetery.
Hall and Hall Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care and arrangements for Mr. Wilder and his family.
