Mrs. Patricia Mae Coleman, 76, of Galesburg, Illinois died 10:50 p.m. Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at her home.

She was born August 18, 1942 in Alton, Illinois to Edward A. Wright and Violet G. Hollins. She married Howard A. Duncan, Sr. in 1958 in Galesburg. She later married Morris Coleman February 14, 1992 in Galesburg. He preceded her in death November 16, 2015.

Surviving are three sons Howard “Skip” Duncan, III of Galesburg, Steve Coleman of Galesburg and William Coleman of Iowa, five daughters, Davonne R. Duncan of Orange, New Jersey, Tara C. Duncan of Galesburg, Kathie L. Duncan of Waterloo, Iowa, Debra (and Benny) Reynold of Arizona, and Stephanie (and Paul) Randolph of Indiana, a brother Donald E. (and Juanita) Wright of Cedar Falls, Iowa, and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sons, Morris, Jr., Charles and Ronald “Rondoo” Coleman, and a daughter, Sherry Coleman.

Patricia was a sewing teacher for Costa Catholic School in Galesburg. She then was a secretary at the Mary Davis Detention Home in Galesburg for several years. She was also a teacher’s aide at Galesburg High School. She was a member of the Bethesda Baptist Missionary Church in Galesburg. She was a program director for the Carver Community Action Agency in Galesburg. She loved teaching the young children of the community and being a mentor.



Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, November 17, 2018 at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors ad Cremation Service Galesburg Chapel. Funeral service will be 11:30 a.m. at the chapel. Rev. Toby Carlos will officiate. Burial will be in East Linwood Cemetery, Galesburg. Memorials may be made to Carver Center Tutoring Program.
