Jackie Wayne Mills, age 72, of Wytheville, passed away on Monday, November 5, 2018. Jackie was born on January 13, 1946, to the late Donald and Gussie Smith Mills. He was preceded in death by brother, Roger Mills; and great-granddaughter, Nylah Mills. Survivors include his life companion, Rhonda Simmerman of Wytheville; daughter and son-in-law, Leslie and Gerald Johnson, of Wytheville; two-grandsons, Ethan Mills and Malik Johnson; granddaughter, Taylor Mills; great grandson, Makari Mills; two stepdaughters and spouses, Lorna and Neal King of Crockett, and Nicole and Matt Forsee of Wytheville; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Walter and Connie Mills, of Wytheville, and Johnnie and Barbara Mills of Wytheville; five step grandchildren, Alora King of Wytheville, Rayna King of Crockett, Charla King of Crockett, Calla King of Crockett, and Delainey Forsee of Wytheville; beloved pets, Jane, Billie and Josie Mills; and many other relatives and a host of friends. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, November 8, 2018, at Grubb Funeral Home with the Reverend Kent Lewis officiating. Interment will follow in the West End Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, November 7, 2018, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, family request donations be made to Open Door Café/ Hope Ministries.
