Mr. Larry Herman Gunn 83, passed away on November 7, 2018 at the Tippah County Hospital in Ripley Mississippi. Larry was born on August 25, 1935 to Herman and Mamie Lee Godwin Gunn in Walnut Mississippi. He was born on the family farm in Walnut and other than a short stent in the National Guard and at Mississippi State , he lived his whole life there farming and raising cattle. Larry was a life-long member of Harmony Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday School Teacher and Deacon. Some of his favorite things were black cows, Mississippi State Sports and his Family.
Services will be Saturday November 10, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Harmony Baptist Church in Walnut with Bro. Ron Norvell, Bro. Tim Bass, Dr. Ron Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow in the Harmony Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday November 9, 2018 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at McBride Funeral Home and from 9:00 AM until service time at 11:00 AM on Saturday November 10, 2018 at Harmony Baptist Church in Walnut, MS. Larry is survived by his wife of 63 years, Ossie Bullock Gunn; one son, Kenny Gunn of Olive Branch, MS; one daughter, Candy Norvell (Ron) of Iuka, MS; three grandchildren, Ginger McCoy (Chris) of Lexington, KY, Julie Norvell of Southaven, MS, Adam Norvell (Katey) of Walnut, MS; one great-grandson, Ty Gunn Norvell.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Mavis Simmons; three brothers, Sewell, Raymond, Curtis Gunn.
Pallbearers will be Jody Jackson, Johnathan Jackson, Mike Gunn, Brandon Gunn, Jimmy Gunn, Wesley Bullock.
