John V. Ketchum of Halifax, formerly of Hingham, died November 4, 2018, at the age of 71 from a stroke.
He was the son of the late Kenneth and Virginia Ketchum of Hingham. He leaves his wife Linda, two daughters; a brother.
John was born in Boston and raised in Hingham. He attended Hingham Schools and graduated in 1966 from North Yarmouth Academy in Maine. He is an Army Vietnam Veteran and was part of the 101st Airborne where he received the Bronze Star. John was a Hingham Fireman for 32 years. John was also a finish carpenter and had a passion for salt water fishing. His deepest love was for his family and especially his grand-children. John was respected for his work and loved for his huge heart.
Interment in the Massachusetts National Cemetery.
