Charles Everett Rouse, 91, of Central City, Nebraska died Monday, November 5, 2018 at Litzenberg Memorial Long Term Care in Central City.

Funeral services will be Thursday, November 8, 2018 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids at 10:30 a.m. with Father Ralph Steffensmeier officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 7, 2018 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Solt-Wagner Funeral Home in Central City with a Rosary at 7 p.m. with Deacon Don Placke assisting. Burial will be in the St. Anthony’s Catholic Cemetery in Cedar Rapids.

Charles was born on July 9, 1927 in Neligh, Nebraska to Warren J. and Dara M. (Koehler) Rouse.

He grew up in Neligh, Nebraska and graduated from Royal High School in 1944.

He then entered the United States Navy on October 12, 1945. He was very proud of serving on the USS Iowa and the USS Fall River. He was honorably discharged on September 26, 1947.

Charles worked or the Nebraska Law Enforcement Scale Division for 32 years weighing semis.

Charles was a member St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Central City.

He is survived by his wife – Helen of Central City, NE; six children – Bradley Rouse, Dondi Rouse, Galyn Rouse, Kimberly and Manny Brazil all of Wahoo, NE; Connie Rouse of Omaha, NE; Sheryl and Roy Serrano of Denver, CO; step children- Aaron and Kathy Williams, Anthony (Gail) Hoer, Michelle Voboril, Michael Hoer, Rose Peterson, Linda Hoer, Jeanette Hoer, and Daniel Hoer; loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one brother- Clarence Rouse; sisters- Mabel Jones and Doreen Dragoo; one grandson- Rodney Williams; one granddaughter- Catina Williams; one step son- Louis Hoer.
