Obituary.

We briefly noticed in our last issue the death of Mrs. Dr. C.C. Moore, who died on the morning of July 10th, 1885.

Catherine Brown* was born in Philadelphia, PA, September 2d, 1822. She was married in that city in 1844 to Dr. C.C. Moore. In the fall of 1859 came to Auburn, Kansas, and resided there until 1875, when the Dr. removed to, and located in Carbondale. Mrs. Moore was the mother of six children, three of whom preceded her to the spirit world. The first one, a daughter, died in the first years of her married life, the others, her two sons, died about two years ago, within a period of six weeks*. Since the death of her boys, her health failed rapidly. Three daughters survive her to mourn the departure of a kind and affectionate mother. Two of whom had the blessed privilege of attending her during her last illness. All her life she was an earnest, consistent Christian, a member of the Methodist church. She was an affectionate wife, a loving, tender mother, a kind friend and neighbor, and by her sweet and gentle manners, and sympathetic nature, was beloved by all who knew her. Her funeral obsequies took place on last Sunday morning at the house, and were conducted by Rev. Riley of the Methodist, and Rev. Morse of the Congregational churches. Her remains were deposited in the Carbondale cemetery.
