Rod West, 66, of Kilgore passed away Monday, November 5, 2018 in Longview. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 8, 2018 at The Chapel of Rader Funeral Home with Rev. David Hampton officiating. Visitation will 10 am - 11 am prior to the service. Interment will follow in Danville Cemetery in Kilgore.
Rod was born June 6, 1952 in Benton Harbor, Michigan to the late Bill West and Ruth Carolyn Gibbs West. He was a car salesman for many years. He worked for Gabriel Jordan and had 22 years of service with Durham Patterson. Rod enjoyed the outdoors and working on tractors, however his family was his greatest passion in life. He loved them tremendously and will be truly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Rod is preceded in death by his brothers, Danny West and Rex Loggins.
He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Deborah West of Kilgore; son, Billy West (Jennifer) of West Virginia; daughter, Becky Cavanaugh (Wayne) of Kilgore; sisters, Carol Copeland (Ras) of Paragould, AR, Sharon Morse (Herman) of Dexter, MO, Phyllis Bailey of Montana, Brenda Chapin (Johnny) of Kennett, Mo, and Jane Mungle (Gregg) of Paragould, AR; brothers, David Loggins (Roxanna) of Jonesboro, AR, Thad Loggins (Shonna) of Kennett, Mo, and Robert Looney of Kennett, MO; grandchildren, Josh West, Hannah West, Emily West, Mackenzie Cavanaugh, Genna Cavanaugh, and Brendon Shannon.
