Raymond Scott Fowlks, 40, passed away Jan. 19, 2001 of apparent heart failure while traveling in San Diego, California.
He was born Oct. 5, 1960 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Ronald L. and Verlaine Bateman Fowlks. He married Cheri Romero on Aug. 22, 1980, later sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple in Sept. 1981.
Ray graduated from Hillcrest High School. He was employed at Boeing for ten years, prior to becoming president and part owner of Allied Fence Co. He was active as an Elder in the LDS Church. He had extensive heart surgery in 1990, which allowed us ten more years with him. Ray was a friend to everyone, and loved camping, hiking, and traveling with his family.
Survived by wife, Cheri; children, Jenefer, Christopher, Jeremy and Andrea; his parents; grandparents, Robert D. and Elaine Carpenter; brothers, Ronald K. (Pauline), Michal B. (Suzette), E. Ross (Shelli), Roger B. (Mistie); sister, Cherie (Don) Lunceford; mother-in-law, Maxine Wardle; sisters-in-law, Connie (Val) Newbold, Judy (Bob) Fitzgerald; brothers-in-law, Ronnie (Becky) Romero, David Romero; many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be Thursday, Jan. 25, 2001, at 12 noon in the West Jordan Utah Oquirrh Stake Center, 5208 W. Cyclamen Way (appr. 6350 So.).
Friends may call Wednesday 6-8 p.m. at Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State, and Thursday at the church from 10:45 - 11:45 a.m. Interment, West Jordan City Cemetery.
The family would like to thank all of those who have shown their concern and sympathy at this time.
