OPELOUSAS - Memorial services will be held Saturday, November 10, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in Melancon Funeral Home in Opelousas for Thomas Kenneth Leach, age 74, who passed away Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at Amelia Manor Nursing Home in Lafayette.

Interment will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Washington.

Mr. Leach was a native and lifelong resident of Louisiana. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War as a helicopter pilot, where he obtained the rank of Warrant Officer-2. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Bronze Star Medal and USA Aviator Badge.

Survivors include his sister, Iris Leach Davis and her husband, Bill, of Pell City, AL; his nieces and nephews, Karen Lynn Ervin and her husband, Bill, of Pell City, AL, Kristie Henderson of Pinson, AL, and Dale Davis of Odenville, AL; and one great-nephew, Jeremy Henderson of Odenville, AL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth Benson Leach and the former Della Marie Deshotels.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 9:00 a.m. Saturday and will continue following the 11:00 a.m. service until 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the charity of your choice.
