WASHINGTON ~ Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 8, 2018 at an 11:00 a.m. Liturgy of the Word in Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel in Carencro for Julie Fisher, age 74, the former Julia Apgar, who passed away Monday, November 5, 2018 at 7:25 a.m. at her residence in Washington.
Interment will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Washington.
Mrs. Fisher was a native of Ohio and lived most of her life in Carencro. She was employed with KMart for more than twenty-three years and was also employed with St. Ignatius Catholic School for several years. Mrs. Fisher loved to travel with her husband and was a member of Carencro Trail Riders Association. An adoring and loving woman, she provided foster care for thirty-three children.
Survivors include her loving husband of fifty-five years, Albert Dejean Fisher of Washington; one son, John Albert Fisher of Beaumont, TX; one daughter, Dejeana Burke and her husband, Chris, of Sunset; one granddaughter, Gabrielle Burke; three great grandchildren, Bradley Burke, Ella Bourgeois and Rhett Bourgeois; two brothers, Jim Apgar and his wife, Kathy, of Lebanon, OH, David Apgar of Vidor, TX; and one sister, Christine Pierre and her husband, Junior, of Gray.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon Larry Apgar and the former Myrtle Mae Pottorf; one brother, Butch Apgar; and one sister, Carol Moore.
Pallbearers will be John Fisher, Chris Burke, Keith Fisher, Chris Meche, Lloyd Aucoin, Cecil Theaux, Bradley Burke and Junior Pierre.
