Frank is survived by two daughters,one sister,three grandchildren,five stepgrandchildren,12 great-grandchildren; three step great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jane Goodwin; parents, Vivian and Laura Goodwin; grandson, Jeffrey Mills; stepgrandson, Joshua Yelland; brother, Gene Goodwin; brother-in-law, Roger Armbruster; sisters-in-law, Gwen Goodwin and Janet Burrows; and sons-in-law, Tom Mills and Edward Yelland.
Frank grew up in Missouri and before enlisting in the Navy during the Korean War, he spent part of his teen years living in southern California.
After his discharge in 1955, he married the love of his life, Jane. They made their home in Ontario, California, and Frank went to work as a test machinist for Kaiser Steel. After raising their two daughters and not long after retirement in 1999, they moved to Gillette.
Both Frank and Jane were Ham radio operators and became active members of the Northeast Wyoming Amateur Radio Association in Gillette. They also were longstanding members of Antelope Valley Baptist Church.
Frank always enjoyed working on anything electronic, especially computers. He was famous for talking like Donald Duck and even won a prize once from Clarence Nash, the original voice of Donald Duck.
Frank and Jane were both well known for serving as Santa and Mrs. Claus in California, as well as Wyoming. Frank was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
A military graveside service will honor Frank’s life at 2 p.m. Nov. 14 at Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis, South Dakota. His wife’s ashes will be interned alongside him. All are welcome to attend. Those attending must stop at the front office prior to proceeding to the shelter. A cemetery representative will escort the attendee to the shelter.
Following the service, dessert will be served at the home of Kitty Yelland, 34 Pine Ridge Road, Pine Haven.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent c/o Suzie (Jerry) Stablein, 64 Alpine, Gillette, WY 82718, to help cover cremation expenses
