Raymond was a WWII U.S. Navy Veteran and belonged to the American Legion 0220 in Comstock, NE.
He was accomplished as an electrician. He worked for the Metropolitan Utilities District for 10 years. He left MUD and began a long career as an electrical contractor throughout Nebraska.
Raymond grew up in North Omaha's Florence area. He went to Florence Grade School and Tech High School.
He joined the Navy and was Honorably discharged. He met his loving wife Frances Saitta and they were together until her death April 11, 1985. He married Margaret Muck and they were together until her death July 4, 2009.
Raymond had a passion for cooking. He collected recipes and would experiment, adding ingredients and changing them to his liking. At different periods of time he owned three different cafes. Two of them he built from scratch in existing buildings. One was already established when he purchased it and, as with recipes, he changed it to suit him. He built a take-out trailer with all the appliances to cook the chicken that he was famous for. With failing eyesight over the past years, he was continually hopeful that he would get better, to see well enough to start another take-out or café. As recently as this past spring, he copyrighted the name RB's Chicken Supreme. Up till a week ago, he was still putting together menus. One room in his house is full of the kitchen accessories needed to run a café.
