Noel Victor Phillips, Sr., age 93, of Cynthiana, Kentucky, died Saturday, November 3, 2018, at Cedar Ridge Health Campus, in Cynthiana. He was born in Nicholas County, Kentucky, on May 6, 1925, to the late Clarence William Phillips and Ella Mae Wagoner Phillips. Noel was a member of Indian Creek Christian Church. He was a United States Army veteran, sergeant ranked. He was active from 1944 to 1946, with the 735th Tank Battalion with the 3rd Army, in Europe, and from 1950 to 1953, with the 11th Airborne and 710th Tank Battalion, in Korea.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by: his son, Noel V. Phillips, Jr.; and five brothers, John Phillips, Sr., William Phillips, George Phillips, Bobby Phillips and Kenneth Phillips. He is survived by: his wife of 66 years, Ruth S. McKinney Phillips; a son, Harold W. Phillips; two daughters, Brenda (Jerry) Dennis and Judy (Terry) Hill; a daughter-in-law, Judy Phillips; a sister, Janice (Elwood) Lanter; 11 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Indian Creek Christian Church by Ernie Perry. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday with a Masonic Lodge service at 7:30 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in Battle Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be to: Indian Creek Christian Church, 51 Waits Road, Cynthiana, Kentucky 41031; or the St. Andrews #18 Masonic Lodge, 128 South Main Street, Cynthiana, Kentucky 41031. Active pallbearers will be Harold Phillips, Bradley Dennis, Phillip Dennis, Jim Howard, Jacob Howard, Seth Ankeny, Johnny Phillips, Jerry Dennis, Terry Hill, Billy Phillips and Scott Lanter. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeff Hill, Keith Hill, Mark Hill, Ashley Hill and nephews.
