Jefferson D "Jeff" Wallace was born on December 22, 1893 in Silver Point, Putnam County, Tennessee, and he was the son of Abraham "Abe" Wallace (1864–1942) and his wife Martha E (Wilkerson) Wallace (1867–1955).

He was educated in Silver Point and was a US Army veteran who served during World War I. He moved to Nashville, Davidson County, Tennessee in 1925, and he was married on August 8, 1926 to Cordelia Whitley (1912–1992), the daughter of Thomas Charleton Whitley (1879–1964) and Emma Elizabeth (Woodall) Whitley (1885–1914) .

A member of Disabled American Veterans, Jeff initially worked at the former Classification Center for 2½ years as a fire boiler. Later he was a stationery engineer at Berry Field, before heart problems forced him to retire in January 1946.

Living on Route 2 out of Antioch in Davidson County, Tennessee on Old Hickory Blvd, Jeff was married and 52 years old. On May 2, 1946 he was walking on Malloy Street between 2nd and 3rd Avenue South and died on the sidewalk of a heart attack. {That was according to his obituary, although his Death Certificate stated that he was the victim of a hit-and-run driver.}

Survivors included his widow and his daughter Miss Ethel Inez Wallace in Antioch, his mother of Silver Point, brothers Carroll Wallace at Silver Point and Alec Wallace in Smyrna, Tennessee and sisters Mrs T F Cronk of Silveer Point and Mrs Arthur Driver at Baxter, Tennessee.

Funeral Services were held on May 4th at John C Roesch Funeral Home, and burial was in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Nashville.

Much of the above is from his Death Certificate, with Mrs Jeff Wallace of Rural Route 2, Antioch as the informant. Additional information is from his obituary in some unsourced newspaper.
