SWANSEA – Robert J. Benevides Sr., age 75 of Swansea, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 4, 2018 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. Robert was the beloved husband of Judith (Fusaro) Benevides, and the son of the late Manuel & Laura (Souza) Benevides. Prior to retiring, Robert worked as a Master Plumber/Pipefitter for the Fall River Housing Authority, and was a parishioner of St. John of God Church.
He enjoyed woodworking, antique cars, singing, playing his guitar, volunteering at Somerset Ridge Nursing Care Center during their Karaoke activities, but above all he loved spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his wife of Swansea, he is survived by his two sons: Robert J. Benevides Jr. (wife Lisa) & Randy P. Benevides (wife Cara).
His funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral home, Inc. 1521 N. Main St., Fall River on Friday, Nov. 9th here at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. John of God Church, Brayton Ave., Somerset at 10:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Somerset. Calling hours on Thursday, Nov 8th from 4-7 P.M.
