Cleo Hammond, of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away Saturday at Southern TN Regional Health System in Lawrenceburg, TN. He served his country in the United States military for 21 years, 6 years of which were in the Navy and 15 years in the Air Force where he retired as a Master Sergeant. He was a retired teacher from the Lawrence County School System. Mr. Hammond was a member of the Tennessee Education Association, Retired Teachers Association, The Retired Enlisted Association, and Mars Hill United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Letha Ridgeway Hammond; his second wife, Dorothy Blackman Hammond Beck; his third wife, Rilla Smith Hammond; and his daughter, Denise Hammond.
He is survived by son, Gary Hammond (Melanie); daughter, Deborah Edge (Randy); grandchildren, Lea Hammond and Natalia Hammond; step-grandchildren, Rebecca Cheatwood (Jeremy) and Brooke Shiftlet (Chad); step-great-grandchildren - Emily Cheatwood, Tayton Davis and Jenson Shiftlet; first wife, Frances Kincaid Hammond.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 1:00 PM Saturday, November 10, 2018. Interment will follow at Lawrence County Memorial Gardens in Lawrenceburg, TN.
