James L. Harlow, 87, of McConnelsville, passed away at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2018, at Highland Oaks Health Center, in McConnelsville, with his three sons by his side.

He was born Dec. 27, 1930, in Zanesville, a son of the late Charles Harlow and Queenie Norton Harlow.

He was an electrician, and he retired from the Ohio Ferrel Alloy, in Philo. He was a former Deputy Sheriff in Morgan County for several years, a Navy veteran of the Korean War, a life member of the Eagles Club, in McConnelsville, and a life member of the Malta VFW.

He is survived by sons, James M. (Sarah) Harlow of McConnelsville, Jason M. (Becky) Harlow of Quaker City, and Joe M. (Karia Robinette) Harlow of McConnelsville; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Ann Reed of McConnelsville; special friends, Tim Miller and Mary Lou Coen; and his dog, Snowball.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Baughman Harlow, who died July 21, 2015; sister, Mary Lou Buchanan; brother, Charles Harlow; and half-brother, Paul Dickison.

Friends may call from 3 to 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2, at Miller-Huck Funeral Home in McConnelsville.

Eagles Services will be held at 5:30 p.m., at the funeral home.

Military Rites will be held at 6 p.m., following the calling hours at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Shrivers Hometown Hospice.
