Edna Mae Porter, 80, of Springdale, passed away on November 4, 2018 at the Willard Walker Hospice Home. She was born on April 22, 1938 at Mt. Gaylor to Hancle and Jessie Parrish Preston.

Edna was a secretary at Bear Brand Hosiery Co., graduated from the U of A, then taught in the Springdale School System for 23 years. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald of 58 years, one sister Frances Hughes, one brother, Fred Preston.

She is survived by two daughters: Susan Taylor and husband Tracy of Russellville, and Sharon Bailey and husband Royce of Pigeon Forge, TN; one sister, Winnifred Collins of Yorba Linda, CA; six grandchildren, Zach (Stephanie) Taylor, Grayson (Amanda) Taylor, Kelsey (H. Clay) Hodges, Colby, Connor and Karline Bailey; two great grandchildren, Pierce Lincoln and Quinn Porter Taylor. Edna was a member of the Robinson Avenue church of Christ. She worked several years with World Bible School and the Prison Ministry.

The family would like to express a special thanks to Tom and Marilyn, Marcia, Lester, Julie, the staff at Fayetteville HOG, the girls at Willard Walker Hospice Home and the many others who offered help and support during Edna's battle with Leukemia.

Memorials may be given to Robinson Avenue Church of Christ at 1506 W. Robinson Ave, Springdale, AR 72764

Visitation will be held from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at the Robinson Avenue Church of Christ on Friday November 9, 2018. Funeral services will follow at 10:00 am with Harry Fitzgerald officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Brentwood Cemetery in Brentwood Arkansas.

Pallbearers include Colby and Connor Bailey, Tracy, Zach and Grayson Taylor, H.Clay Hodges, Tom Kilpatrick, Benny Kilpatrick, Leter Wilkinson and Mark Passmore. Honorary Pallbearers are nephews, Mike Hughes and James Collins.
